Hardwood

Here at DGR, we supply and install both solid wood flooring, (made through wood throughout its entirety and thickness), and engineered wood, which looks identical on the surface, but made from a thinner layer of solid wood, bonded to quality plywood.
⁃           Solid wood hardwood can be made of different species such as Maple, Oak, Walnut, or Cherry. The advantage of solid wood is that it can be sanded and refinished several times in the span of its life. Real wood flooring can sometimes come in narrower boards than engineered hardwood flooring, and can also be tighter between the boards. Solid wood can be purchased in both pre-finished, and unfinished forms.
⁃          Engineered Hardwood can have slightly bevelled edges that can be more visible at times, this material is generally purchased pre-finished. Engineered Hardwood does have a slight advantage in performance with humid locations, which is thanks to its plywood framework that allows it to remain sturdy and less vulnerable to warping caused by wet environments.
